High-Mileage DPFs: The Case for Off-Car Cleaning

At Top DPF Cleaning, we typically see Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) becoming heavily loaded with ash between 100,000 to 130,000 miles. For vehicles with over 100,000 miles, we do not recommend on-car DPF cleaning.

This is because ash buildup cannot be removed through standard on-car regeneration or flushing methods. The only effective way to remove ash is through a reverse flushing process, which can only be performed with the DPF removed from the vehicle — our specialty with off-car industrial cleaning.
